FDA Seizes UAS Laboratories Probiotic Products

Washington, DC: The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seized UAS Laboratories probiotic products, alleging the company illegally markets the probiotic products as drugs. Included in the UAS Laboratories seizure were DDS Acidophilus, DDS Plus, Probioplus DDS, DDS Junior and Cran-Gyn DDS. The products were available in capsule, powder and tablet forms.

According to the FDA, UAS Laboratories claimed the probiotic products could treat or prevent colds, flu, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, yeast infections, ulcers and high cholesterol. The company reportedly continued making these claims despite warnings from the FDA that the claims were in violation of federal law.
