Trip Assured Inc.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the travel protection company for routinely misleading customers. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Southern California and claims Trip Assured charged a fee to protect travelers against losing their money on trips they have to cancel or interrupt because of medical and other emergencies. The class includes those who had to cancel their trips for valid reasons, but were denied reimbursement and on behalf of those who thought they were buying insurance. The lawsuit alleges Trip Assured marketed its trip cancellation product as insurance, but the company was not licensed to sell insurance.
