A lawsuit has been filed and is seeking class action certification against the city and former police officer alleging gender harassment. Several Asian women claim Richard Valerga pulled them over for no reason, touched them inappropriately, and asked them personal questions. The class action was filed in US District Court in San Francisco. Valerga pleaded no contest to two charges of violating the civil rights and two counts of false imprisonment and has resigned from the department.
