Norton Internet Security, which is produced by Symantec Corp, is pre-installed on many new computers, both desktop and laptop. Norton Internet Security is designed for the purpose of protecting the computer from on-line threats such as spy ware, viruses, worms and hackers.

The pre-installed version of the Norton Internet Security is good for 60 days. After this time period, users are prompted by pop ups warning that the users' subscriptions to Norton Internet Security will be turned off if they do not renew their subscriptions.

These pop ups continue to appear even if users have renewed their subscriptions, thereby confusing users and causing them to renew their subscriptions again. These overpayments, users complain, are retained by Symantec.
