Microsoft Explorer/Windows 1998 and 2000

Newspaper articles have stated that users of the Microsoft Explorer internet browser running the program on the Windows 98 and 2000 operating systems are exposed to having their computers invaded by a form of computer virus known as "spyware." A "spyware" invasion can seriously impair a computer's functioning and can even result in identity theft. According to press accounts, users of Windows 1998 and 2000 are not able to download Microsoft's Service Pack 2 designed to remedy this problem. Only by purchasing Windows XP can a user remedy the problem. If you are running Microsoft Internet Explorer on Windows 98 or 2000 and have had problems with spyware or identity theft and/or have unsuccessfully tried to download Service Pack 2 you may have a legal claim.
