McDonald's Faces Potential Wages Class Action in Washington State

A potential class action lawsuit has been filed in Washington state by two former employees of McDonald's fast food restaurants, who allege that they were not given paid breaks during their shifts.

According to Washington state law, hourly employees must receive a 10-minute paid break for every four hours worked. Larry Hill and Samantha Vaefaga of Yakima, who filed the suit, allege that the managers at the restaurants at which they worked either forced them to work through their breaks or clock off prior to taking them.

The defendants in the suit, Greg and Jan Luring, reportedly own 11 McDonald's restaurants in the Yakima area of Washington, which employ about 500 people.
