Lazoff Retaliation Discrimination Lawsuit

The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit alleging that the City of Colorado Springs Police Department refused to promote Officer Lance Lazoff to sergeant in retaliation for his allegiance to his wife who was the lead plaintiff in a successful class action lawsuit against the police department under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Lazoff, who applied for a promotion nine months after the settlement of the ADA suit, has received numerous commendations, and the Justice Department claim he should not have been retaliated against for his support of his wife.
