Google faced with class action for placing ads on parked domains

Google has been filed with a class action lawsuit that alleges they committed fraud by selling ads on parked domains that were unlikely to generate a response or a conversion.

The plaintiff, attorney Hal K. Levitte, advertised his legal services through a Google AdWords pay-per-click campaign that received 202,528 impressions from parked domain pages (placeholder websites with auto-generated links that relate to search keywords).

Of the 202,528 impressions, Levitte got 668 clicks and zero conversions. His ads also appeared on error pages, through Google's AdSense for Errors program. This campaign brought him 1,009 impressions, 25 clicks and zero conversions.

Google could be liable for a significant sum if the lawsuit becomes a national class action that affects other AdWords advertisers.
