State of Florida

The state of Florida has been accused in a class action lawsuit of failing to provide constitutionally adequate care at a treatment center for sexual offenders. The center in Northwest Florida lost a state case over its disciplinary methods in 2002. The lawsuit claims the mental healthcare program is failing to provide constitutionally adequate mental healthcare in a mental health facility and instead it is being run like a prison.
