Ensign Group Inc.

Brookside Health Care Center in Redlands and Upland Rehabilitation and Care Center nursing homes are alleged to operate fraudulently and are in violation of health and safety codes, according to a class action lawsuit. The suit claims that patients have suffered from poor staffing and have had money taken from them.

The suit claims these two facilities which are owned, operated or controlled by Ensign Group Inc., delivered inferior care to patients between May 10, 2002 and May 10, 2006 by averaging 3.16 nursing hours per patient per day during 2003, delivering 1,308 fewer hours of care than required by the state.
