Defective Chip in Cameras, Camcorders, and Hand-held computers in California

Electronics companies have announced that some of their cameras, camcorders, and hand-held computers may contain a defective chip. According to the companies, the chip is apt to fail in hot and humid environments. The companies are offering to repair defective cameras, but only if they actually fail. Otherwise, there is currently no recourse for individuals who own a camera that contains the defective chip, but has not actually failed.

Under California law, selling defective products or falsely advertising them is a serious civil offense and a local law firm is investigating claims against the companies listed below.
