Summer Day & Night Baby Monitor Faces Potential Class Action

A new father in Illinois has filed a class action lawsuit against the manufacturers of Summer Day and Night Video Monitor, alleging that the company has violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practice Act.

Specifically, the suit alleges that the device is not secure and can transmit audio and video to other similar devices thereby putting the privacy and safety of the plaintiffs at risk. Furthermore, the manufacturer should have made the problem known to consumers. The lead plaintiff, Wes Denkov alleges he has suffered emotional distress and is seeking actual, statutory and punative damages.
