A class action lawsuit has been filed against the Cook County Department of Corrections on behalf of mentally ill inmates who are incarcerated at the Cook County Jail. The lead defendants named in the case are John Stroger, the President of the Cook County Board, and Michael Sheahan, the Sheriff of Cook County.
