American Girl Crafts Jewelry Kit Recalled Due to Lead Paint

Washington, DC: The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of American Girl Crafts Pearly Beads & Ribbon Bracelets kit, distributed by EKSuccess Brands, due to excessive levels of lead. The lead can reportedly be found in the surface coating on some beads included in the kit.

Included in the recall are kits with an SKU number of 30-585331. The kits contain 56 pieces, including pink, blue, orange and white beads. The kits were sold at Michaels Stores and other stores nationwide from September 2009 through June 2011. The kits cost approximately $8.
