Misrepresentations of Bluetooth® cell phone functions

It is alleged that Alltel, and maybe other cellular service providers and cell phone resellers, may have sold the Motorola V710 cell phone, and maybe other phones, with representations that the phone had Bluetooth® functions, when in fact, most of the Bluetooth® functions had been previously disabled.

Under California law, false advertising is a serious civil offense and a local law firm is investigating claims against Alltel and others. If you purchased an Alltel or other cell phone based on written (online or print) advertising or representations that the cell phone had Bluetooth® Wireless Technology functions, but it did not, you may have a claim against the cellular service provider

Alltel, based in Little Rock, Arkansas, provides wireless service and cellular phone retailing, as well as, high speed internet service and local/long distance telephone service.

Bluetooth Cell Phone Functions in the News

Similar to Alltel complaints, Verizon cell phone customers filed a lawsuit against Verizon alleging that the wireless provider did not disclose accurate details of the Bluetooth features on their Motorola V710 handsets. The customers won the case and the tentative settlement includes a monetary credit, the ability to return the phone, or cancel cell service with no fees. (Sep-27-05) [RCR WIRELESS NEWS]
