Kraft Faces Wages Class Action

Madison County, IL: Kraft Foods Global Inc is facing a wages class action filed by workers at its plant in Granite City. The suit claims that the plaintiffs were not paid for all the hours they worked.

Lead plaintiff Joan L. Jones claims in the suit that she and other hourly workers at the plant were not paid for attending safety and other meetings and were not paid for the time it takes to put on protective gear mandated by Kraft. The suit alleges that this failure to pay constitutes a violation of the Illinois Minimum Wage law.

The suit seeks a judgment in the amount of the wages not paid to the approximately 400 to 500 hundred potential class members and other relief.
