SunTrust week from hell: Robbers! CO2! Overdraft Fees!

October 1st, 2009. By

stack newspapers SunTrust week from hell: Robbers! CO2! Overdraft Fees!SunTrust just can’t keep out of the news lately. If you believe in the adage that any PR is good PR, well then, SunTrust must be racking up new customers left and right. However, my gut is the type of news SunTrust has been involved with isn’t the run-right-in-and-open-an-account type.

Here’s the SunTrust round-up for the week:

1. SunTrust Bank gets Robbed

Central Florida’s been getting hit with some bank robberies as of late. This past Monday, it was SunTrust’s turn—at the SunTrust branch located at 200 S. Orange Ave. in downtown Orlando. The Orlando Sentinel reported that the suspect, a white male between 25 and 30 years old got away with “an undisclosed amount of money”. The suspect was wearing a black messenger-style bag. Thankfully, no one was injured.

2. Carbon Monoxide Fumes fill SunTrust Mortgage Location

I could make a lousy play on words here and say something about how “at least something’s getting filled at SunTrust” in relation to recent charges against SunTrust for not filling (or more aptly, freezing) some clients HELOC accounts, but I won’t. (oh, I guess I just did—sorry). But this is no joking matter. The Richmond Times Dispatch reported earlier this week that more than 40 SunTrust Mortgage employees in South Richmond (the 1001 Semmes Ave. location) became sick when carbon monoxide fumes filtered into the building’s ventilation system. The C02 was apparently from an emergency generator. Ten employees were taken to local hospitals for treatment and three of the ten were considered to be have serious conditions, according to Richmond Fire Lt. Shawn Jones. We certainly hope everyone recovers quickly.

3. SunTrust to Jump on the Overdraft Fee Reduction Bandwagon

Well, heck, if Bank of America and Wachovia/Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase are doing it…So, SunTrust stated on Monday that it is “aware of the heightened sensitivity surrounding this issue” and expects its own overdraft rules to change soon. TampaBay.com shares in its coverage on this story that SunTrust currently charges $36 per overdraft.

Wonder what’ll be in the Sunday papers…

SunTrust and all other banks are thieves, like the sheriff of Nottingham. They rob from the poor to give to the rich! Screw the overdraft fees! they need to change the way the deduct the items that come into your account, otherwise they will keep subtracting high to low and still get the same fees for returning the items unpaid!

Suntrust Mortgage needs to service the construction mortgage loans to the builder the enticed originally. They have so far allowed the fraudulent borrowers to keep one of my disbursements without regard! There is a construction mortgage recorded and the security agreement for it has the name of my company directly on it! I will eventually get to sue them since they will not accept our settlement offer!

WATCH OUT BUILDERS/SELLERS! THERE BUYER/DEBTOR SHOULD NEVER GET THE CHECKS MADE TO THEM DIRECTLY….ALWAYS FILL OUT THE BUILDER PACKET TO STATE JOINTLY ON THE DISBURSEMENT AUTHORIZATION!

    Thieves!!!
