Asbestos in Your House?

Asbestos was widely used in attic and pipe insulation, drywall, and ceiling and flooring tiles in homes built during the 1980s. If you suspect you may have asbestos in your house, or are contemplating renovations or repairs, it’s best to get professional help to identify the problems and how to deal with removal.  There are essentially three types of services:

  • Asbestos Testing Companies – These are licensed companies that will determine if asbestos contamination is present in your house.
  • Asbestos Removal Companies – These companies are certified and licensed to remove asbestos in conjunction with government regulations.
  • Asbestos Consulting Firms – These companies consult around the environmental issues such as air quality in areas where asbestos has been found. Their services can include but are not limited to asbestos surveys, and asbestos abatement contract administration.
