Critics Question Liptruzet

. By
div itemprop="articleBody" class="article">Washington, DCEven though Liptruzet has only just been introduced on the market, at least one critic is questioning why the drug received approval. Liptruzet is a combination of Lipitor and Zetia, but Steven Nissen, of the Cleveland Clinic, says that because Zetia has not been proven to prevent heart attacks and strokes, approving it in combination with another drug does not make sense.

According to Forbes (5/3/13), Zetia has been shown to lower low-density lipoproteins but has not been proven in studies to prevent heart attacks or strokes. Nissen argues that doctors could prescribe Lipitor and Zetia separately, rather than having the FDA approve a combination drug. Merck has said it is confident in its drug.

Thanks drug companies!

I have been taking Crestor for about 2 years and Zetia for a year and half additional been taking Ranexa for angina.

Now I have severe pain in my right thigh and leg with muscle deterioration and the last two blood test showed high level of sugar.

I have quit taking Crestor and Zetia and possibly Ranexa but I am afraid it is too late and scared I have permanent muscle damage and the onset of being a diabetic.

3 doctors never considered Crestor as being the cause of my muscle problems they said I had hip joint problems and possibly need a transplant. What a bunch of idiots. I also had 3 epidurals for my so called hip pain causing possible nerve and tissue damage.
