St. Charles, MO: A woman was killed over the Independence Day weekend after a Missouri car accident in St. Charles, reports television station KSDK.

According to the news source, 43-year-old Kimberly Kraemer, a St. Charles resident, was killed when she drove off the left side of the road on County Route B near the New Town portion of St. Charles.

Authorities stated that Kraemer attempted to over-correct her 2002 Saturn vehicle to the right, which caused it to spin off of the right side of the road and roll over a number of times, reported the news provider. During the accident, Kraemer was reportedly thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

Patrol troopers said that Kraemer was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, where the car ended up on its top in a ditch.

Also during the weekend of the Fourth, a 50-year-old West Plains woman reportedly fell asleep at the wheel of her truck on Interstate 44, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and become overturned in a ravine, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

The news source reports that Beth A. Hunt was thrown from her Ford F-250 during the accident and was not discovered until two hours after the incident occurred. Hunt reportedly sustained serious injuries and was taken via helicopter to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Hunt was reportedly not wearing a seat belt while driving westbound in Webster County close to the Greene County line, according to the police report. The accident reportedly occurred in the early morning hours of July 4, the news source said.

Due to the lack of light and the fact that the woman and the truck rolled into the ravine, she was not discovered until the driver of a tractor trailer saw her from his driving seat at daybreak, reports the news provider.

On the morning of July 5, three more people were injured in a three-car accident in Cass County when a 19-year-old drove his Pontiac Grand Am into the rear of a Ford Mustang, according to the News-Leader.

The news source reports that the Pontiac then collided with a Dodge 1500, injuring three teenagers, none of whom were wearing a seat belt.
