Chrysler Recalls 600,000 Vehicles

. By Email to a friendEmail
Detroit, MI: Chrysler is recalling approximately 600,000 vehicles because of brake or wiring problems that could cause safety issues. The recall, which affects minivans and Jeep Wranglers, was announced on June 6, 2010.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said 288,968 Jeep Wranglers, model years 2006 through 2010, were recalled due to a potential brake fluid leak. This leak, caused when the front inner fender liners rub against brake fluid tubes, could cause a partial loss of brakes.

Furthermore, 284,831 Dodge Grand Caravans and Chrysler Town & Country minivans, model years 2008 and 2009, are being recalled because of a wiring problem that can cause a fire in the sliding doors.

So far, no injuries or accidents have been reported related to the brake or wiring issues.
