Digitek Recall: Your Pharmacist will Call

Morristown, NJ: Just weeks after Actavis, in conjunction with the FDA initiated a recall of its heart drug Digitek (digoxin tablets), a lawsuit was filed on May 5, 2008 in the northern district of Ohio and a class action lawsuit was filed in the eastern district of Louisiana. The suits follow a voluntary recall of all Digitek lots after reports that tablets of twice the approved strength were issued in the US.

Icy Hot Heat Patches: Second-Degree Burn

Not all stores have pulled the patches from the shelves and not all consumers have heard about the recall, so some are still buying the patches to alleviate their pain. Richard M. is one such person.

Avandia Heart Attack

New Orleans, LA: After being on Avandia for two years, Gail suffered a heart attack. When she was admitted to hospital, immediately following her heart attack, the doctors did an angiogram and found that all the arteries were blocked. Gail had to have five stents put in, which required two separate operations.
